DESCRIPTION:You’re Invited \n  \nMidwest Youth Services and The Family Dinner Project are thrilled to invite you and your family to a Community Dinner at Central Christian Church at 359 W. College Ave on July 15\, 2022\, from \n5:30 – 7:30 pm! \n  \nResearch shows what parents have known for a long time: Sharing family meals is good for the spirit\, brain\, and health of the entire family.  The benefits of family meals include better academic performance\, higher self-esteem\, and a greater sense of resilience.  In addition\, children who eat dinner with their families have a lower risk of substance abuse as well as depression! \n  \nAt the Community Dinner\, families will have time to make part of the meal at their tables. Before eating our dinner\, we will enjoy some games and conversation. We are looking forward to getting to know each other\, having fun\, and sharing various tools to improve our family meals. DESCRIPTION:June 7th – July 24th \nJacksonville Public Library Summer Reading Program \n201 West College Ave.\, Jacksonville \n  \nMonday’s: Movies – Join the library every Monday during summer Reading for a movie screening at 10am \nTuesdays: Entertainers \nWednesdays: Story time (10am) \nThursday’s: Crafts \nFriday/Saturday’s : Lapsit\, teen crafts\, and special activities like lego club\, tie dying\, a hike and craft at Western Illinois Youth Camp\, and more! \nClosing Party: join us on our last day of Summer Reading\, Sunday July 24th\, for a touch a truck event and the announcement of our SRP winners! A Kona Shaved Ice truck will also be here to dish out some sweet treats!
